White House national security spokesperson John Kirby says the US Treasury Department will designate Wagner as a significant Transnational Criminal Organisation.
abc.net.au/news/us-to-impose-new-sanctions-against-russia-wagner-group/101878938The United States will impose additional sanctions against Russian private military company the Wagner Group, which US officials say has been helping Russia's military in the Ukraine war.
"In coordination with this designation, we will also impose additional sanctions next week against Wagner and its support network across multiple continents," Mr Kirby told reporters at the daily White House briefing. Declaring Wagner a transnational criminal organisation under US executive order 13581 freezes any US assets of Wagner and prohibits Americans from providing funds, goods, or services to the group.
North Korea's foreign ministry had called the report groundless and denounced the United States for providing lethal weapons to Ukraine.

Revelations of classified White House documents discovered in a private office of Joe Biden's and in his Delaware home following his time as vice president have stifled the momentum Democrats gained following the midterm elections. 'So some folks are saying that there were forces at hand trying to protect Biden and help him in the midterms,' Mr Mulvaney told Sky News host James Morrow. 'But now that you get this slow drip, drip of information coming out about new documents ... and for the first time attacking the president in the press. 'It is fuelling that argument that there are people who are using this as an excuse to sort of nudge Joe Biden out.'
