Ottawa police confirmed that a pedestrian was involved in a collision with an OC Transpo bus Thursday morning on St. Laurent Boulevard.
Ottawa police said the collision occurred at the intersection of St. Laurent Boulevard and Tremblay Road. An investigation was ongoing.Confirmation that the pedestrian died reached the city’s transit operations control centre shortly after it first learned of the collision around 11:20 a.m., Alta Vista Ward Coun. Marty Carr said in a Facebook post Thursday afternoon.
“Our first thoughts are with the pedestrian and their loved ones. We are also thinking of the impact of this on the bus operator, the affected passengers, and witnesses,” the memo read.Article content Amanda Poisson, an employee at nearby Bytek Volkswagen, said she pulled into the dealership’s parking lot just after the collision occurred.After a few moments, however, Poisson said she saw a pair of crossed feet under the OC Transpo bus.

Police escorted people off that bus and onto another waiting bus where they were kept for some time before being driven away.
