Multiple police units were investigating a scene near the 200 block of Langdon Road, close to the intersection of Rossmore Road and Farwell Terrace

Nothing of interest was found during a search of a ravine in a wooded area at the end of the 200 block of Langdon Road, Lincoln Louttit, spokesperson for the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service

Louttit said police were called to the area for the 'potential for something' that was partially buried underneath snow and water in the ravine area. "Out of an abundance of caution we sent in additional staff," said Louttit. "There was nothing found."Louttit said the public was alerted about the search due to the large number of units that were operating in the area.

"We want to make sure that the community knows when you have that amount of officers showing up somewhere, there's something being investigated," said Louttit.Sault Police are asking people to stay away from the area of Rossmore Road and Farwell Terrace as officers conduct a major investigation in the 200 block of Langdon Road.

"There is a significant police presence," the force says in a news release. "Members of the Emergency Services Unit, Forensic Identification Unit, Investigation Services and Patrol Services are currently on scene conducting an investigation."SooToday will provide more details as they become available.
