With the dew on the pumpkin patch and opening night less than a week away, some Maple Leafs came up with their first pre-season goals Thursday night.
While the trial run of Nylander at centre 5-on-5 could be done , Nylander was added to an impressive list of forwards that coach Sheldon Keefe injected into the penalty kill. Lyon, who won a key game at SBA for the Florida Panthers last year that helped their playoff drive for an eventual meeting with the Leafs, made 34 regulation saves.
