The first sign something wasn’t quite right was the oversupination of his right arm that essentially left his hand turned in and his palm facing upward as its resting position.Gavin Noble loves the outdoors and is looking forward to life in Gros Morne National Park when he begins his new physiotherapy position at the Bonne Bay Health Centre in Norris Point in November.

“When it came to finer things like writing and everyday tasks, I had to find ways to improvise because my fine motor skills were a little bit delayed and I had to find ways to compensate for that,” he said. Gavin Noble, who grew up in Middle Arm on the Baie Verte Peninsula, decided to pursue a career in kinesiology and physiotherapy because he found staying physically active helped him cope with cerebral palsy, which he was diagnosed with at the age of eight. — Contributed

“Having that point of view and knowledge feels like it gives me an even better edge in understanding what’s happening with a patient,” said Noble. “That will make me an even more valuable physiotherapist.”
