The University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) on July 28 announced the approval of the country’s first doctoral program in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to be facilitated by the university.
The University of the Philippines Diliman on July 28 announced the approval of the country’s first doctoral program in Artificial Intelligence to be facilitated by the university.The program aims to produce PhD graduates equipped with a “scientific mindset, adequate technical skills, and a professional perspective in expanding the field of Artificial intelligence,” UP Diliman Artificial Intelligence Program posted on its official Facebook account.
It focuses on identifying and understanding problems, familiarizing with state-of-the-art solutions, formulating novel algorithms and techniques, and deploying suitably advanced and highly reliable AI systems, UPD added. Being under the college of engineering, the university stated that this program is open for the following:Researchers. For those who want to extend the AI body of knowledge and invent the next big AI algorithmUP Diliman Artificial Intelligence Program
The program options include; Option A – MEngg-PhD [Straight] program with prior bachelor’s degree with thesis; Option B – PhD program with prior master’s degree without thesis; and Option C – PhD program with prior master’s degree with thesis.UP Diliman Artificial Intelligence Program Special admission of option A applicants for the first semester of the academic year 2022-2023 was opened on Aug. 1 and will last until Aug. 15 at 5 p.m.The admission instruction for options B and C are yet to be announced.
