The University of Wollongong has announced flexible working arrangements for staff ahead of Australia Day this month.
The change came about out of respect for First Nations people, which allows fixed-term and permanent employees to work on January 26 and choose a substitute holiday on either Friday January 27th or Monday January 30th.
The change was agreed to by university staff unions and follows similar decisions which were made for employees at Channel 10 and Telstra.
