A second Donald Trump presidency in the United States could be unpredictable, say lobbyists and industry representatives who argue Ottawa needs to focus on what Canada can control, such as reducing “trade irritants.' “The thing with Trump is that it's not only change, it's erratic change. It's unpredictable change, and it's change that could have such wide-ranging effects on us,” said Cam Holmstrom, founder of Niipaawi Strategies and a former NDP staffer.
