Apparently as mysteriously as it arrived, an unofficial plaque marking the upcoming first anniversary of the convoy counter\u002Dprotest dubbed \u0022The Battle of Billings Bridge\u0022 is now gone.

“It’s unsanctioned, it commemorates a historical event… It’s a wonderful piece of public guerrilla protest art, and that’s in the best spirit of what Banksy has been doing, because it’s also attached to a strong social commentary,” Burges said. “There’s quite a bit of pride going around this community about this plaque and what it reminds us of,” he said.
