Supporters gathered at the Northern Water Sports Centre to fete the community organization, a part of Sudbury since 1982
Supporteers, members and dignitaries joined together to celebrate a milestone for the United Way Centraide North East Ontario. On Sept 28, the organization was feted for their work in the community, starting in 1982 when they were called United Way Sudbury and District.
Held at the Northern Water Sports Centre, overlooking Ramsey Lake, the event attracted more than 50 people and offered a chance for everyone to celebrate achievements, and the number of community organizations they have helped through the years. “Throughout the district, we've seen an increase in demands,” she said. “We typically get about two times as many applications for funding then we can actually support and we've seen a lot of agencies come to us because they don't know where to go next.”
