About 170 safety inspectors in Ontario are expected to be back on the job soon.
On Friday, the Ontario Public Service Employees Union announced a tentative agreement with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority . The inspectors went on strike in July, following months of negotiations. Topics of discussion included wages, benefits and staffing levels.The inspectors are normally tasked with checking the safety of a variety of equipment – including elevators, amusement rides and pressure vessels.
