UNBC has been named a top B.C. employer for the ninth time since 2012.
For the ninth time, the University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George has been named as one of British Columbia’s top employers.
Recognition was given to the local university because it offers education opportunities to employees, including waiving tuition for its courses, onsite fitness programs at the state-of-the-art Northern Sport Centre and access to its on-campus daycare.“It is a community where our dedicated faculty and staff collaborate daily to create a rich environment for teaching, research and meaningful partnerships. Being named a top employer in B.C.
UNBC was judged on its physical workplace; work atmosphere and social environment; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs. The 2023 edition also included a section related to UNBC’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
