UK playing a 'dangerous game' by sending warship, warns Iran

IRAN has warned the UK not to enter a “dangerous game” as plans to relieve a Royal Navy warship in the Gulf were escalated amid increasing tensions.

Security is being stepped up in the stretch where HMS Montrose is stationed, after Iranian boats tried to stop a UK ship on Wednesday.Iran has repeatedly called for Britain to release an Iranian-owned oil tanker Grace 1 which was detained by Royal Marines in Gibraltar last week, even though it was discovered to be carrying 2.1 million barrels of light crude oil destined for Syria despite the sanctions in place.
