Commsec’s Tom Piotrowski says the behaviour of the United Kingdom’s markets overnight were “very mundane under the circumstances” of outgoing British prime minister Liz Truss resigning.
“The continuity around the financial side of things is what is reassuring the markets at the moment,” Mr Piotrowski told Sky News Australia.
“We only saw very modest moves where the stocks were concerned, the FTSE was up by a quarter of a percent. “The British pound against the US dollar actually moved through only a narrow window overnight it must be said.”
