An American soldier crossed the heavily armed border from South Korea into North Korea 'wilfully and without authorization,' U.S. officials said Tuesday. The soldier is currently in North Korean custody.

Col. Isaac Taylor, spokesperson for U.S. Forces Korea, said the military was "working with our KPA counterparts to resolve this incident," referring to North Korea's People's Army. It said he is currently in North Korean custody and that the UN Command is working with its North Korean counterparts to resolve the incident.
