The week ahead is set to highlight Australia's weather extremes, with hot conditions in NSW and Queensland to start the week potentially followed by snow further south. 9News
The inner city's temperature forecasts are 15 degrees above the March average and the west is hitting 10 degrees above the average.
NSW Rural Fire Service commissioner Rob Rogers said there are already 35 fires burning in NSW with four not contained. Tuesday should be hot again, heading for 34 degrees, with Wednesday not much cooler, before some relief on Thursday and into the weekend. The cold front should hit south-east South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and southern New South Wales, bringing bursts of strong and wild winds, expected to peak at 90km/h.
