Singapore police arrested two men for burglaries in landed estates, linking them to a suspected Chinese syndicate. The suspects are believed to be connected to a series of burglaries between June and August.

The police said on Thursday (Dec 19) that it was alerted to the first case at a private residential estate along Greenleaf View in Holland area at about 12.10pm on Wednesday. The Singapore Police Force (SPF) obtained closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras within and around the unit. After conducting follow-up investigations and using police cameras, they identified the two male suspects.At about 6pm on Wednesday, the police arrested both suspects at a hotel along Joo Chiat Road. Two watches valued at S$8,800, a branded pouch worth about S$5,000, an assortment of jewellery and about S$3,570 in cash were recovered. It was also established that some of the values recovered were related to another case of housebreaking and theft along Zehnder Road in Pasir Panjang, which was reported to the police at about 8.20pm on Wednesday. 'Investigations are underway and the police have not ruled out the possibility that the two suspects are linked to the housebreaking syndicate active in Singapore in mid-2024,' SPF said. The spate of burglaries in landed estates between June and August are believed to be linked to foreign syndicates involving Chinese nationals.
