The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas ( PDEA 7) and the police of Central Visayas conducted separate anti-illegal drug operations in Cebu City and Bohol , resulting in the dismantling of two drug dens and the arrest of six individuals on Friday, February 7, 2025.At 7:50 p.m.
, a joint force from the PDEA Cebu Provincial Office and the Mabolo police station of Cebu City Police Office carried out a buy-bust operation in Sitio Lubi, Barangay Luz, Cebu City, leading to the closure of a drug den and the apprehension of three suspects. Those arrested were identified as alias Raul, 63, a cook and the maintainer of the drug den, along with his live-in partner alias Anecita, 42, a helper, and his brother alias Arnulfo, 66, a blacksmith. They were caught in the act of sniffing shabu. Authorities seized six packages of substance believed to be shabu weighing 11.65 grams with an estimated average market value of P79,229.00, along with drug paraphernalia.Earlier, at 7:04 p.m., the PDEA Bohol Provincial Office, in collaboration with the Calape Municipal Police Station, PNP Bohol Maritime Police, and PNP Drug Enforcement Group, successfully raided another drug den in Sitio Lumbang, Barangay Sta. Cruz, Calape, Bohol, where three individuals were apprehended. The arrested individuals were identified as alias Noel, the target of the operation and the drug den maintainer, a 56-year-old mechanic; alias Irvin, 26, a security guard from Barangay Cabayugan, Calape; and alias Noel, 26, from Loon, Bohol. PDEA agents also confiscated nine packages of suspected shabu weighing 11 grams with an estimated value of P74,800, along with various drug paraphernalia. According to Leia Alcantara, an information officer at PDEA 7, the two drug dens were under surveillance for a week following information received from reliable sources. It was reported that the suspects were selling 10 to 15 grams of suspected shabu to their customers. The seized evidence was brought to the PDEA 7 Regional Office Laboratory, while the items seized in Calape were taken to the Bohol PNP Forensic Unit for chemical analysis. Cases for violations of Sections 5, 6, 7, 13, and 14, Article II of Republic Act 9165 are being prepared against the six individuals arrested
