A woman is fighting for life as police appeal for information about one of the cars involved.

Two people have died and a woman is fighting for life after a three-vehicle crash in a major Brisbane tunnel.

Police said debris was spread for hundreds of metres in the crash about 3.10pm and the tunnel remained closed into the night after causing long delays during peak hour.Two people have died after a three-vehicle crash in the Legacy Way tunnel. The critically injured woman was undergoing surgery tonight and a fourth person, who was in a white van, suffered serious injuries but was expected to survive, Crabbe said."And obviously, traffic delays, extensive traffic delays were involved."
