A man and a woman have died after being pulled from the water at Bastion Point in Mallacoota.
Two people have died after being pulled from the water at a popular holiday spot in eastern Victoria.Bastion Point.Paramedics attended, but the pair died at the beach. No further details have been released on what happened or the identities of the deceased.There were no lifeguard patrols at Bastion Point on Wednesday, according to Surf Life Saving Australia’s Beachsafe website.
“Standing on Bastion Point, you can see waves breaking over the bar up to several hundreds of metres out to sea,” the website states.At least 64 people have drowned in Australia this summer, according to Royal Life Saving Australia.
