Police have charged two men who allegedly fled the scene of a shooting in rural Queensland in an alleged stolen vehicle.
The driver then suffered a gunshot wound before being rushed to Dalby hospital in a serious but stable condition. But before police could arrive at the address, the two men had fled the scene in the Mitsubishi and began travelling towards Toowoomba.
Police tracked the vehicle for some time along the Warrego Highway, before the"successful deployment" of a tyre deflation device near Charlton. However the vehicle continued driving along the highway, before allegedly colliding with a motorbike at the intersection of James Street and West Street in South Toowoomba.After the vehicle finally came to a stop near the intersection of O’Quinn Street and West Street, the two men were arrested before 10am. The 31-year-old man from Dalby has been charged with one count each of attempted murder, armed robbery, unlawful possession of weapons and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
