The juvenile detainees could be seen on top of a perimeter fence as flames and smoke billowed from the buildings.Police and firefighters were called to Perth’s Banksia Hill youth detention centre on Saturday evening. "Special Operations Group officers and other Corrective Services officers participated in the operation to secure the facility.
The department says other detainees who were not involved in the incident were "kept safe and secure".
