Two brought to hospital following house fire in View Royal

Two people were brought to hospital, and one cat has died with others unaccounted for following a fire in View Royal on Monday night.

In a release, View Royal’s fire chief Paul Hurst says crews were able to keep the fire contained to one unit of the building.

Initially, the call came in that there were “several” people trapped in the building, but upon arrival all occupants had escaped.Hurst says firefighters found a cat in the initial search and performed CPR for about 30 minutes, but the cat passed away. He says there are other animals unaccounted for.
