The Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) on Saturday reiterated its call for the House of Representatives to pass the P150 across-the-board
The Trade Union Congress of the Philippines on Saturday reiterated its call for the House of Representatives to pass the P150 across-the-board daily wage hike, as Filipino workers can no longer meet ends with the continuing rising cost of basic needs.
TUCP, the largest labor group in the country, said the recent small amount increases for the regional minimum wages are not enough to make ends meet. “Without a P150 wage hike, those at risk of becoming poor or are on the edge of poverty will fall through the cracks amid these price and fare hikes further increasing the total number of poor Filipino families. Without a P150 wage hike, the New Year offers no new relief in sight for workers, but only new burdens,” lamented TUCP Vice President Luis Corral.
