September futures on the S&P/TSX index were up 0.2% at 7:26 a.m. ET , following the underlying benchmark index hitting a six-week high on Friday. Oil prices rose for a third straight session, buoyed by forecasts of a widening supply deficit in the fourth quarter after Saudi Arabia and Russia extended cuts along with optimism around a demand recovery in China.Canada's annual inflation data, due on Tuesday, is expected to show a rise to 3.8% in August from 3.3% in July, while on a month-over-month basis, the consumer price index is likely to have cooled down to 0.3% from 0.6%, as per LSEG data.
