BROOKFIELD, N.S. — Colchester County RCMP have a warrant out for the arrest of a Truro man in connection with a shooting at a Brookfield motel Sunday night.
Darren Trevor Jackson, 52, allegedly shot at a woman in her vehicle. While the supposed target was uninjured, the gunfire hit another woman waiting in her car. Both parties fled the scene, said RCMP. RCMP remained on the scene at the Sunrise Motel in Brookfield on Monday. A woman was shot at the motel Sunday night and the suspect, Darren Trevor Jackson, is still at large.TIM KROCHAK PHOTOUpon learning of Jackson's involvement, an emergency alert was sent across several counties at 11:10 p.m. on Oct. 15, telling people to report any signs of Jackson but not to approach him since he was believed to have a firearm.
The emergency alert was cancelled on Oct. 16 at 9:30 a.m. as it was determined Jackson posed no immediate threat to public safety as they deduced it was a targeted shooting.
