A cyclist was taken to hospital Friday after he was hit by a driverless truck that rolled out of a driveway in Nanaimo.
Nanaimo RCMP said the truck’s owner had briefly gone inside his Finlayson Street house to get his dog when the emergency brake slipped, sending the vehicle rolling toward the street.
The truck owner and several other people in the area jumped into action and jacked up the truck to free the 34-year-old cyclist.B.C. Emergency Health Services paramedics arrived transported the cyclist to hospital.
