Tributes have poured in for an 'SNP legend' following his sudden death.
It was revealed today that Hamish MacQueen, branch president of Maryhill and Springburn SNP, passed away on July 5.The Maryhill and Springburn SNP branch announced the news on Facebook, writing:"We have very sad news today."Hamish was a life-long member of our party since 1947, and a true stalwart of our Independence Movement.Margaret Ferrier, former SNP MP of the Rutherglen and Hamilton West constituency, lead tributes on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"A few years ago he tried to introduce himself to me and I said he need not do so as he was a legend of the party, it was I who needed to introduce myself to him.Another added:"So sad, part of my childhood in the SNP and I knew him as an adult too. He was so knowledgeable and never stopped fighting for independence.
