Transport groups are seeking fuel subsidies from the government, as they await the decision on their ongoing fare hike petitions amid the continuous hikes in the pump prices of petroleum products.

According to Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operators sa Pilipinas Convenor Danilo Yumul, fuel subsidies should be given to drivers on a regular basis, as is being done in other programs of the government.

and the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers , through which government agencies provide subsidies to specific sectors.with oil industry sources projecting an increase of P0.60 to P0.80 per liter for diesel, and P1.20 to P1.40 per liter for gasoline.
