Allard was elected MLA for the constituency of Grande Prairie in 2019, winning the seat with over 63 per cent of the vote.Allard was removed from cabinet and pilloried for travelling with her family to Hawaii in December 2020, despite advice from public health officials and the government itself against non-essential travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic.on Jan. 4, 2021 amid fallout from the scandal that became known as Alohagate.
Months later, Allard was among a group of backbenchers who spoke out against renewed public health measures the province introduced in March amid the pandemic’s third wave.
