Sky News host Chris Kenny says it was becoming clear the environmental and political fall-out was going to be “substantial” following the train derailment which caused a chemical spill in Ohio.
“There are reports of animals and fish being killed by chemicals from the smoke, and reports also of people feeling ill in the area.
“And it started getting very political, especially when some Republicans criticised President Joe Biden for going to Kyiv instead of visiting this disaster close to home.” Mr Kenny said “super savvy populist” Donald Trump spotted the opportunity and turned up to East Palestine, where the train derailment took place.

Local residents are now worried that the derailment has contaminated the drinking water in the area. “For some reason, we know that there were chemicals on board, but for some stupid reason, somebody decided to set those on fire,” Mr Murray said. “They keep telling us everything’s ok, trust us, we’ll be alright, but basically, a chemical bomb has gone off just a few days ago.” Mr Murray discussed the issue with Sky News contributor Megyn Kelly.
