Staff at Canadian missions in Israel, Palestine, and surrounding countries are well prepared for the crisis unfolding in the region, but face uncertainty over how long the conflict between Israel and Hamas will last, according to former diplomatic officers and the profession's union. “You have contingency plans, but it’s hard for people, because they're tired, they’re stressed,” said Pam Isfeld, president of the Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers .
