A weekly roundup of lobbying registrations in Ontario
EDITOR’S NOTE: This article originally appeared on The Trillium, a new Village Media website devoted exclusively to covering provincial politics at Queen’s Park.Antler Kitchen & Bar made the news in the past for attracting protests from animal rights activists and for sending Premier Doug Ford a bill for kegs of beer it had ordered but couldn't sell before they spoiled because the province reversed course on COVID-19 restrictions back in 2021.
"Antler's goal is to work with government to pursue regulatory amendments to allow wild game to be served in Ontario restaurants. Antler would like to create more choice for consumers surrounding buying and consuming natural wild game," its entry in the lobbyist registry says. "Antler would like to source from Indigenous suppliers, increase tourism, create jobs in the sector and increase revenue for the province.
Dye & Durham also has new representation and is meeting to discuss the Ontario Business Registry and "seek continued opportunities for partnership which provide cost-savings to government." The company made headlines in 2021 as one of two service providers for the business registry, which the province moved online, frustrating lawyers with glitches and system shutdowns, and again in 2022 for hiking prices on its real estate products.
