Toronto police arrest three people in fraudulent gift card investigation

Police said that between July 2022 and January 2023 three people were allegedly involved in a “sophisticated forgery lab” which was used for the alteration and manufacturing of retail gift cards intended for fraudulent use.

Three people have been arrested and charged in an investigation into fraudulent gift cards, Toronto police said in a news release Thursday.

The news release also said that investigators allegedly seized fraudulent gift cards amounting to approximately $500,000 along with fake government issued identity documents.Anyone with information is asked to contact Toronto police at 416-808-7300, anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 416-222-8477 or at
