Charges were laid against 26-year-old Saturday afternoon following a traffic stop on Causley Street

A 26-year-old from Toronto is facing a long list of charges after OPP officers in Blind River say they found a loaded handgun and lots of cocaine inside a car over the weekend.

Shortly after 2 p.m. on Saturday, police conducted a traffic stop on Causley Street after being alerted by an automatic licence plate reader that the registered owner was a suspended driver.According to the OPP, a subsequent search of the vehicle turned up a loaded handgun, tobacco products, a small amount of marijuana, and more than 400 grams of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of approximately $46,000.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and he is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
