Twins hand Blue Jays 8th loss in 9 games:
Rosario hit a sacrifice fly to deep right in the first inning to bring homefrom third base. Kepler had led off the with a single and then advanced on Polanco's first hit of the game.
Polanco piled on in the second inning, driving the ball over the right-field fence and cashing in Kepler for a 3-0 Twins' lead. That pitching change wasn't fast enough as Thornton gave up a single to Rosario and then a home run to Cron to lead off the inning. Toronto catchertried to buy Gaviglio some time with a quick visit to the mound but as soon as he returned to his position behind home plate Montoyo came out to pull Thornton., struck out Garver, then Schoop crushed the first pitch he saw for a two-run homer and a 7-0 Minnesota lead.
McKinney finally ended Toronto's scoring drought with a solo shot to right field in the bottom of the fifth. It was his second of the season and cut the Twins' lead to 7-1.
