Tokyo Auto Salon 2025, one of the world's largest automotive events, was a whirlwind of custom cars, aftermarket parts, and JDM goodness. This recap shares some highlights from the show, including standout vehicles and the presence of renowned Japanese tuners.
If you're a car enthusiast and follow Top Gear Philippines, you're likely aware of the buzz surrounding the Tokyo Auto Salon 2025. This event is the premier destination in the region, and one of the largest globally, for all things automotive, particularly JDM . My teammate Charles and I were fortunate enough to attend on the first day at Makuhari Messe.
Let's just say, it was overwhelming! The sheer volume of custom cars, aftermarket parts, merchandise, and toys was a sensory overload, especially for first-timers like us. I plan to share a first-timer's guide soon, but for now, we're excited to showcase some of the most remarkable finds from this year's show.From the dazzling Honda Beat transformed into an NSX to the slammed Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (don't worry, we understand the mixed reactions!), the show was a feast for the eyes. We also spotted a collection of AE86 Levins and Truenos, a testament to the enduring popularity of these iconic models. The presence of numerous Mazda RX-7s and Nissan GT-Rs (R32, R33, and R34 generations) was another highlight, showcasing the strong presence of these legendary vehicles in Japan. Naturally, the event wouldn't be complete without the presence of our favorite Japanese tuners and aftermarket brands. Rays, Modellista, Varis, JAOS, and many others had prominent booths, offering a glimpse into the world of automotive customization. Shops like Autobacs and Up Garage also participated, adding to the diverse offerings. While we may have missed a few installations, we made every effort to capture the essence of Makuhari Messe.
