Queensland is looking at potential reform to dog ownership laws after a toddler was mauled in a third attack in under a week.
The toddler was taken to Queensland Children’s Hospital on Wednesday after being attacked by the dog at the property in Yatala in the northern end of the Gold Coast.
She suffered severe injuries to her head and neck as a result and remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital. Four dogs were taken from the home following the mauling, including three German Shepherds and a French Bull Mastiff. The Yatala mauling is the third dog attack in Queensland this week, with a boy taken to Logan Hospital on Wednesday night and a six-year-old girl attacked by a Bull Arab dog on Monday night.
