7NEWS: Toddler inside car stolen from Cleeland St, Dandenong

launched an urgent appeal after the black Kia Carnival, registration 1WU5QT, was taken from Cleeland St, Dandenong on Monday afternoon with the toddler sitting inside.

Investigators say the car was parked about 3.25pm and witnesses reported seeing it travelling towards Heatherton Rd.“The exact circumstances are yet to be determined but the vehicle was parked with the two-year-old child in the rear seat when it was stolen,” police said. Police later confirmed the two-year-old had been found at a business on Burwood Hwy in Ferntree Gully, about 16km away from where the car was taken.Investigators are continuing to search for the stolen vehicle.

Anyone who sees the vehicle or has CCTV or dashcam video of the incident is urged to contact triple-0. Victoria Police are searching for a black Kia Carnival with a two-year-old child inside that was stolen from Cleeland St, Dandenong on Monday afternoon.
