A one-year-old toddler in Sagbayan, Bohol died after he drowned inside a pail of water, it was reported Wednesday.According to a report by Mark Salazar in State of the Nation, victim John Andrei Tinapay was playing with his three-year-old and nine-year-old siblings outside their house prior to the accident.Although the pail was not full, John Andrei’s head was submerged in the water when his older brother found him.“His brother shouted for help.

Efforts to revive John Andrei failed and he was brought to the rural health unit where he died after a few hours.His family is seeking financial assistance for his funeral.Data from the Philippine Statistics Authority showed that there were 17 drowning incidents among infants aged below one year in 2022.Meanwhile, there were 360 children aged one-years-old to four-years-old who also died from drowning in the same year.
