KUALA LUMPUR: The peace and prosperity in Malaysia today is due to the past sacrifices of police personnel, says Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani.

"The police force has experienced various challenges since its inception on March 25, 1807. The sacrifices by previous officers and personnel will not be in vain," said the Inspector-General of Police.

The event was graced by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.Among others present were Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Deputy IGP Tan Sri Razarudin Husain. "Based on the theme 'police and society are inseparable', we will carry out our duties to the best of our abilities. We will protect the country and its people from any threat, be it foreign or domestic," he said.
