With many Canadians worried about affording food and shelter, we have an inquiry that is trying to determine whether the invocation of the Emergencies Act was a response to a legitimate national emergency, or a cavalier affront to our democracy. Yes, this is a very important matter. However, taxpayers will be paying many millions for this and it will, once again, distract all levels of government for a long time.
May I suggest that representatives from all parties involved spend a couple of days in Ukraine, at the outset of their exercise, to gain some extra background on national emergencies? This might help them speed up their process, thereby permitting our various governments to better focus on other pressing matters, including our ability to respond to an increasingly ominous world outside of our own borders.
Why don’t you print coverage of the cars that your readers might actually buy such as “First Drive: 2023 Honda CR-V” or present useful stories such as ”Hybrid office workers can benefit from pay-as-you-go car insurance”? They still would have gotten their 15 minutes of fame.
