Ariarne Titmus is sticking to her plan of sitting out the World Championships to pour all her energy into the Commonwealth Games | phillutton78
Ariarne Titmus says she won’t be swayed by her superb return to the competition pool and will stick to her plan of sitting out the FINA World Championships to pour all of her energy into the Commonwealth Games.
Titmus has been banging down the door of that record and she was ahead of the relentless red line until the final 10m of the race, when it just slipped out of her grasp. But the writing is already on the wall and Titmus looks an even better swimmer on the other side of the Olympic Games.“I’m pretty happy with the swim. I didn’t get back into proper training until December.
Titmus said the temptation was there to shift her focus to the World Championships, where she would run headlong into her great rival Katie Ledecky, but was keeping a steadfast gaze on her path towards the Paris Olympic Games.
