TIMMINS — The Claire Dubinsky rink continues to roll at the Canadian U-18 Curling Championships in Timmins, Ont.
The Kakabeka Falls Curling Club foursome, which includes Lily Ariganelllo, second Bella McCarville and third Rylie Paul, are 3-0 at the event and in first place in the Pool B division heading into Wednesday’s games against British Columbia No. 1 , led by Holly Hafeli, and Manitoba No. 2 , skipped by Grace Beaudry.
The Dubinsky rink has wins against Nova Scotia No. 1, the Northwest Territories and New Brunswick No. 1.On the boys side, Brendan Rajala’s Northern Ontario No. 1 rink dropped its first decision in four outings on Tuesday night, edged 3-2 by Manitoba No. 1, skipped by Jace Freeman. Thunder Bay’s Adam Wiersema, who plays lead, and Jackson Dubinsky, who plays third, make up half of Rajala’s 3-1 squad.
They take on unbeaten Nova Scotia No. 2 on Wednesday at 2 p.m. They’re currently in second place in Pool C, behind their afternoon opponent.
