IPOH: A three-year-old girl was found drowned in a children’s pool at a house in Tambun on Sunday (April 30) evening.
Perak police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the girl was found floating in the pool by her brother at about 6.30pm Sunday."Initial investigations found that the pool belonging to the victim’s grandfather’s neighbour was located at the side of a house.
"Around the time of the incident, the victim was with her mother at the house visiting relatives, while her father had gone to send another relative home. "At about 6.30pm, the victim’s brother found her floating in the pool, and she was rushed to the hospital," he said in a statement Monday .The post mortem conducted Monday found the cause of death due to drowning.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 33 of the Child's Act for leaving a child without reasonable supervision."Police view such cases seriously, and will take stern action against parents, and guardians for failing to keep an eye on their children," he added.
