It’s feared an avalanche has claimed the lives of three climbers scaling a mountain in Banff National Park.
The climbers — an American and two Europeans — were attempting to summit Howse Peak on the Icefields Parkway about 55 km north of Lake Louise. They were reported overdue on Wednesday.
“Based on the assessment of the scene, all three members of the party are presumed to be deceased,” Parks Canada spokeswoman Amy Krause said in a statement.
