KOTA KINABALU: Three individuals in Tawau, including a customs assistant director, will be charged for various corruption offences at the district special corruption court on Thursday (Sept 3).

The Tawau Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission will bring forward the charges to the court from 9am.

The first case involved a Grade WK44 Tawau customs assistant director based in Lahad Datu, who conducted an offence under Section 16 of the MACC Act 2009 for soliciting a RM3,000 bribe."The second offender is an Indonesian charged under Section 17 of the same Act, for offering RM50 bribe to an auxiliary policeman to avoid any actions taken for not possessing a B2 class driver's license.

"The third is a Chinese national who also conducted an offence under the same Section, offering RM2,000 in bribe," said MACC.
