“I just saw the weirdest thing driving to work just now. I saw three horses galloping down the Princes Highway,” said Michael, who phoned radio station 2GB to report his odd encounter. The horses were first sighted running southbound at Brighton Le Sands, and NSW Police later captured them at Taren Point.

Using some bread and apples, officers managed to lure the horses away from the main roads into the industrial area on Holt Road at Taren Point. Police said their owner was now collecting them.Ben Fordham, NSW Police Inspector Luke Scales said officers were “very happy” to get the horses under control as soon as possible.

“We found them pretty quickly when we had to this morning. The police did an excellent job in guiding the horses with their vehicles,” he said.“No police, no motorists and especially no horses were injured throughout the operation this morning.” Scales confirmed they were not police horses and are now investigating how the horses managed to escape.
