Three former NHL players, Dillon Dubé , Alex Formenton , and Michael McLeod, attended pretrial hearings in London, Ontario, ahead of a sexual assault trial involving five former players from Canada's 2018 world junior hockey team. The hearings, set to last three weeks, began on Monday in a London, Ontario courtroom. The trial is scheduled for April, and all five players have opted for a jury trial.
They are charged with one count each of sexual assault involving a woman who claims she was violated in a hotel room in London after the gala celebrating Canada's world junior hockey win. Michael McLeod additionally faces a charge of being party to the offense
