Three people have died and a man is in hospital following a single vehicle crash at Tarago, New South Wales, about 70km north of Canberra on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Bungendore and Collector roads at about 1:10pm on Sunday after reports a vehicle left the road and rolled, coming to rest on its roof.
Officers attached to The Hume Police District and other emergency services attended and located three passengers – a man and two women - trapped in the overturned car, which came to a rest in a paddock near a large tree.The driver, a man aged in his 20s, was able to get out of the vehicle unassisted and has been transported to Canberra Hospital in the national capital with minor injuries.
Bungendore Road remains closed between Collector Road and the Kings Highway, and north to the Tarago township. The road is likely to be closed for some hours and motorists are advised to delay their travel if possible or find an alternate route.
